General Dostum Suffered Minor Wound In Taliban Attack

MEP: The armed Taliban ambushed the convoy of Vice President, General Abdul Rashid Dostum on Sunday in which he was injured, but the battle to retake the district of Ghormach in Faryab province continues.

Abdullah Abdullah, the chief executive officer of the national unity government at a meeting of the Council of Ministers has confirmed the news.

He said the health of condition of Dostum is satisfactory and is currently present in the operation for cleansing Ghormach.

First Vice-President, travelled to Faryab province last week to retake the district of Ghormach and has taken the lead in operations against the Taliban.

Last updated news about the Taliban ambushed the convoy of General Dostum was published yesterday, but was rejected by his close.

Meanwhile, it is said that four troops including two bodyguards of Gen Dostum were killed in the attack.

This comes as Karim Youresh, spokesman for Faryab police chief said military operations against the armed Taliban led by General Dostum strongly continues in Ghormach.

The armed Taliban also confirmed the report, saying they have ambushed the convoy of General Dostum.
