Former Azerbaijani Security Minister’s Role In Arming Wahhabis

KABUL: (MEP) A security official that wished to remain anonymous claimed in an interview with the European “Radio Liberty” that “Eldar Mahmudov,” the ousted security minister of Azerbaijan has undertaken illegal importing of weapons from Turkey as supported by Israel and as funded by Saudi Arabia in order to arm Northern Caucasus Wahhabi forces.

According to “sizinyol” news agency reports, these weapons have been transferred by Azal flights from Turkey to Azerbaijan, distributed among Wahhabi extremist groups and smuggled to Dagestan. On the other hand, more than four hundred Azerbaijani Wahhabi forces are fighting in Syria and Iraq under Eldar Mahmoudov’s silence that shows the coordination with Israel and Saudi Arabia.

The main reason for Eldar Mahmoudov’s dismissal from the Azerbaijani security ministry and the dissolution of this department is that Putin has provided Ilham Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan, with documentary information about this problem.

Eldar Mahmoudov’s dismissal and that of two hundred of his colleagues were the biggest threat to the rule of Ilham Aliyev whose monarchical authority was shaken so his security councilors thought of creating a false propagandistic crisis like Nardaran events, to magnify the risk of moderate Shiites to avoid direct confrontation with armed extremist Wahhabi movements.

This controllable fictive crisis not only marginalized Eldar’s dismissal and the mafia around him, but also put the distribution of weapons among North Cauacaus by Azerbaijani security ministry out of the spotlight for the media in Azerbaijan and in the world.

The return of more than a thousand Takfiri rangers and warriors to Azerbaijan will certainly set this country ablaze and will create a comprehensive interior crisis. It suffices, in order to understand the oppression of Shiites in Azerbaijan, to see the government is stating its inability to rein in armed Takfiris, who are controllable.

Also in the past Aliyev’s government has shown its inability to act against American and British support of the opposition through making criminal cases for Shiites and this outrageous procedure has taken place several times in the past two decades and is still going on. In the meantime, it seems that Azerbaijani Shiites should be able to defend their interests against the government and not look forward to receiving help from others.
