Floods Claim 15 Lives, Thousands Displaced

MEP: At least fifteen people have lost their lives in deadly floods surfaced Vietnam’s central, central highland and southern provinces with six missing and thousands displaced, the Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said on Monday.

Downpours across 10 provinces have submerged 41,000 houses and 12,000 hectares of farmland, according to the source.

Phu Yen province had the highest death toll with seven killed.

A combined 12,000 hectare of crop land were flooded while more than 40,000 cattle and poultry were dead or washed away, the report said.
