Daesh Claims Kabul Suicide Attack That Killed, Injured Over 250

Kabul blastMEP: More than 250 people have been killed and wounded as result of three powerful explosions between protesters of Lightening movement or (Junbesh-e-Roshnaye) in Deh mazang area of Kabul city on Saturday afternoon.

The deadly explosion took place on Saturday at around 2:30 PM when thousands of people had gathered to protest the transmission power line of 500 kilowatts lighting of Turkmenistan via Bamiyan province.

Ministry of Public Health says the injured have been transferred to hospitals in Kabul.

After the incident, the color and smell of hospitals in the country had changed, more injuries and deaths primarily in the hospitals of Alawddin and Isteqlal were transferred which are the nearest hospitals to the accident.

More than 100 deaths and injuries had initially announced in the first moments of explosion.

A 50 year old mother who has lost two of his sons in the blast was broken into pieces and tears on the floor of Isteqlal hospital.

A large number of other mothers are also looking for their missing and most of them are not aware of their loved ones and have immediately referred to other hospitals but containers placed by the government, made them face major problems.

Meanwhile, a number of young men and women attended the Isteqlal hospital to donate blood for the injured by accident.

Zabi, standing in a long line of blood told the Middle East News Agency “Not many of people are able to donate blood as I can do to cope with the situation as the injured are not good and most of the them are in serious need of blood.”

According to Isteqlal hospital officials and doctors of being busy, we did not manage to get their views, but in all hospital rooms there are injured with critical conditions.

There are scores of other injured present in other hospitals of the city like national security hospital, Sardar Mohammad Dawod Khan, Emergency and Jamhoryat hospitals.

The Takfiri Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the blast saying two members of the group have detonated themselves among the protestors.

The casualties toll can possibly increase as the number of injured is still unclear.

Presidential Palace (ARG) strongly condemned the deadly attack in the city.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has ordered all institutions and public authorities to use all means to deal with the wounded in the blast and transfer the wounded to equipped hospitals for emergencies (such as national security and Sardar Mohammad Daoud Khan Hospitals), a statement by his office said.

The statement though did not disclose the exact number of casualties but adds a large number of citizens killed and injured in the incident.
