China Approves $73 Million To Assist Afghan Military

12769373_1037176383010148_514993918_nKABUL: (MEP) Afghan Presidential National Security Adviser during a meeting with Chief of General Staff of the Army of the Republic of China urged to support the process of equipping the Afghan Air Force.

Chief of China’s People’s Liberation Army Mr. Fang Fenghui in a visit to Kabul on Monday met and spoke with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Hanif Atmar, Afghanistan’s National Security Advisor about military cooperation of China – Afghanistan.

The National Security Advisor urged the China’s Army Chief of Staff to support Afghan military with airlift and logistical, portable radars and uniforms.

He welcomed the suggestion of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army chief about the formation of a joint mechanism of cooperation with militaries in Afghanistan, China, Tajikistan and Pakistan.

National Security Advisor praised the support of Chinese government for Afghanistan during the past 13 year and said the Kabul government continues to seek cooperation with China in the fields of security and common interests.

The suggestion of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in the creation of such joint mechanism is very good.

He also said that Afghanistan for the formation of the joint team is very optimistic in the process of achieving peace in the country.

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army once again emphasized the commitment of his country to the Protection of Afghanistan and promised that Beijing will review further support for Kabul and would consider providing military assistance to the country.

The Presidential Palace said in a statement Fang Fenghui during the meeting with President Ghani pledged that his country will contribute 73 million dollars to the military in Afghanistan.

According to the statement, the two sides discussed about Afghanistan, China, Pakistan and Tajikistan’s joint fight against terrorism in the region.
