Canada To Solve Accommodation For Asylum Seekers

12650607_1021878701206583_460476284_nKABUL: (MEP) The Canadian Minister for Immigration and Repatriation said Thursday the country has considered to build two military bases to house new immigrants in Ottawa and Quebec provinces.

According to AFP, the Canadian government made this decision due to the lack of housing for new immigrants who have recently come to the country.

The decision comes after Justin Trudeau, the country’s Prime Minister announced that Canada accepted more than 15,000 Syrian refugees and is expected to accept 10,000 more refugees by the end of the current month.

“The housing shortage in the country is significant and challenging.” John McCollum, Canada’s Minister of Immigration said, adding that “the problem is however manageable.”

He said the government has decided to settle camps for the migrants in two military bases in Kingston city of Ottawa and Valcartier of Quebec.

McCollum added migrants’ acceptance in the country would not halt but to settle these immigrants is still a major challenge and should be thought about it. Around 6,000 refugees are expected to get placed at the military bases.
