
KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least an Egyptian officer has been killed and eight people injured following a bomb attack in the capital, Cairo.
An Egyptian officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity said, Egyptian police convoy was the target of the bomb attack in Ain Shams, a neighborhood in northeast Cairo.
The officials added that seven Egyptian police conscripts and a civilian were wounded in the attack as well.
The Egyptian Interior Ministry said in a statement that the convoy was targeted by a “home-made bomb,” adding that the officer, who succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, was serving at Egypt’s anti-riot unit.
The Ajnad Misr (Soldiers of Egypt) militant group claimed responsibility behind the attack.
