Bahrain Detains Secretary Of Muslim Scholars Assembly
MEP: Bahraini security forces have reportedly detained Seyyed Majid al-Mashaal, the secretary of Muslim Scholars Assembly, after raiding his home on Saturday morning.
Sayyed al-Mashaal is one of the influential figures in the country and the regime of Al-Khalifa, has deemed the organization illegal.
House leaders of Bahrain, is one of the most important Shiite religious institutions in this country.
The report comes as on June 20, Bahraini authorities stripped Sheikh Issa Qassim of his citizenship less than a week after the country’s Justice Ministry suspended al-Wefaq and dissolved opposition al-Risala Islamic Association and Islamic Enlightenment Institution, founded Sheikh Qassim.
