KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghanistan and its people have celebrated Nawrooz (New Year) across the country.
However, the traditional Janda-Bala (flag-hoisting) ceremony was held in Mazar-e-Sharif province to begin Nawrooz, new solar year, on Saturday.
Every year, tens of thousands of people from across the country travels to Mazar-e-Sharif to attend Janda-Bala ceremony in the Shrine of Hazrat Ali, the fourth caliph of Islam.
In celebration of Nowruz, three days of celebration will occur all across Afghanistan including events at many provincial capitals.
