KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Army has launched a fresh military operation across the country in past 24 hours in which at least 11 Taliban militants were killed and six others injured.

The ministry of interior issued a statement Saturday morning states that the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and personnel from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Kunar, Ghazni, Paktiya, Herat and Logar provinces.

According to the statement, two more Taliban insurgents were arrested during the operations and some weapons and ammunition were detained.

The statement added that some Improvised explosive Devices (IEDs) were also discovered and defused in Kandahar and Nangarhar provinces in the past 24 hours.
