Afghan & Iranian CEOs Discuss Chabahar Port Benefits

image_650_365KABUL: (MEP) The Iranian officials of Chabahar state warmly welcomed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah and his led delegation attended a splendorous ceremony held there.

CE office said in a statement, after performance of some verses of the holy Quran, some Iranian officials of the state, with Hamed Ali, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the free Chabahar region said there were over 100 companies and more than 300 traders in this area.

Governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, Ali Awsat Hashemi provided Dr. Abdullah with information about construction of the second Silk Bridge, construction of his country’s consulate in Nimrooz, imports of Afghanistan via the Chabahar Port, construction of free bazaars near the border areas and preparation of his country to export oil and gas to Afghanistan.

He asked for visiting the Afghan minister of commerce to Iran to discuss issues on how to use the port’s provided eases, the statement added.

The country’s CEO praised the Iranian officials of the Free State for making effort to provide opportunities to use the Chabahar port’s facilities and said the National Unity Government was focusing on economic issues and needs and the Iranian government’s support in this respect.

Abdullah said Chabahar port was significant in economic development for Afghanistan, Middle East and India and the time has reached for us to do our part in expansion of the program and helping it get operational.
