Afghan Force Captured Tons Of Explosives

KABUL: (MEP) Afghan security forces have seized more than 12 tons of explosives in Paktika province, the intelligence agency.

KABUL: (MEP) Afghan security forces have seized more than 12 tons of explosives in Paktika province, the intelligence agency.

The National Directorate of Security said the material was hidden in 250 bags which were placed under firewood in two trucks belonging to Haqqani network.

The material was meant to be used in the province, it said in a statement adding a person identified as Rafeq was arrested by agents for carrying the explosives adding the material was meant to be used in the province.

Haqqani network is allied with Taliban and which is blamed for some of deadly and high-profile attacks in Afghanistan.

The latest discovery comes two days before officials from Afghanistan, Pakistan, U.S., and China are set to meet for the fourth time on peace negotiations in Kabul.
