Afghan Army Arrest Senior Taliban Commander In Sar-e-Pul
MEP: Security forces have arrested a senior armed Taliban commander who had significant role in the fall of Kohestanat district.
Sohrab was detained on Wednesday evening, Zabiullah Amani a spokesman for the governor of Sar-e Pul said.
“The Taliban commander was previously working with the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) before joining the ranks of the armed Taliban” Amani added.
The militant arrested after he was planning to leave Kohestanat district for Faryab province.
It’s noteworthy that Kohestanat district is considered one of the most important bases of armed Taliban in Sar-e-Pul province.
