Man Sets Himself On Fire Outside Royal Palace
KABUL: (MEP) A man died after setting himself on fire in the early hours of Tuesday outside Kensington Palace, the central London home of Prince William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and their two children, British Police said.
According to source, the incident was not being treated as suspicious or related to terrorism.
Police found the man ablaze near a garden gate outside the palace and pronounced him dead at the scene, a representative for London’s Metropolitan Police said.
There was a strong smell of petrol at the scene, which was cordoned off to tourists.
Officers were called to an area near the locked parks of the palace at 3:06am (0306 GMT) “following reports of a man behaving suspiciously” the police noted.
Kensington Palace however declined to comment on the situation.
The dead man believed to be aged in his forties, according to police statement.
