60 Killed In Pakistan Police Academy Attack

MEP: At least 60 people have been killed and over 100 injured in an attack on a police academy in the city of Quetta, Pakistan, officials say.

The deadly occurred when three militants wearing suicide bomb vests entered the college late on Monday, reportedly taking hostages.

Officials noted that all three assailants were killed.

“They were rushing toward our building firing shots so we rushed for safety toward the roof and jumped down in the back to save our lives,” one of the trainees told Pakistan’s Geo television.

The Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.

“Forty eight bodies have been brought to the hospital,” Wasim Beg, senior doctor at Quetta’s Civil Hospital told Reuters earlier.

An emergency was declared in all government hospitals of the provincial capital of Balochistan, with the injured shifted to the Civil Hospital Quetta and the Bolan Medical Complex.

The police academy is home to hundreds of students and many of the cadets who were killed in the blasts, said Major General Sher Afgan of the Frontier Corps.
