Withdrawal Of Soviet Troops

26KABUL: (MEP) 27 years ago (today), the last soldier of the Red Army of the Soviet Union, has left Afghanistan and somehow ended its occupation.

General Gromov, commander of the Soviet Army, as the last soldier of the country, crossed the Friendship Bridge to Afghanistan nine years and a few months after the devastating war, freed from the communist forces.

After leaving Afghanistan the Soviet leaders, likened their presence times in the country as “sore wounds” and after that they also failed to support its puppet government.

Invaded by the Red Army, many of Afghanistan’s population, have left the country and took refuge in other countries.

The Russian withdrawal raised the hope to people to be witness of a popular government and to live in peace; but the flames of ethnic division, regional and language after the Soviet withdrawal turned into fire and the country faced internal deadly conflicts and destruction.

Russian troops withdraw from Afghanistan caused the government-backed by Russians to lose the ability to withstand long against the Mujahideen and eventually be overthrown.

Mujahideen victory was met initially welcomed by the people, But the Mujahideen government failed to secure living conditions, combined with comfort and ideal to provide for the Afghan people.

Immigration was increased at that time and the country lost its professionals and experts and those who remained in the country were only thinking about survival and had no other business.

This situation continued until the Afghan people witnessed the presence of the Taliban and their hardline rule and to any conditions other than that, they were satisfied.

The situation gradually brought the presences of foreign troops under the NATO-led coalition in the country and a nation that was unable to tolerate a country and a force, now has to tolerate more than 18 countries.

Now the situation is in a way that the inadequacy of governments in the country led to the possibility of the presence of foreign forces has not been used in time and all of the achieved resources are also being destroyed.

However, the withdrawal of Soviet troops despite showing the unity of the Afghan people and the government; also provided ongoing unrest in the country and turned the country into a dependent nation on other countries and the war still continues across the country.
