US To Provide $5bn In Afghanistan Construction

constructionKABUL: (MEP) The United States pledged to provide USD 5 billion for construction section in Afghanistan.

Naeem Yasin, chairman of union construction companies in Afghanistan said Sunday at a news conference in Kabul that United States will help to provide five billion dollars in the construction sector to Afghanistan by 2020.

The budget will be organized by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Embassy in Kabul and other American organizations in the country.

“The money will be more expended on building military units and training centers for Afghan security forces,” Yasin said, adding that “one billion of the budget will be spent on construction sector following the current year (2016).”

The construction sector in Afghanistan in 2014 and 2015 faced recession challenges due to elections and political problems and now the chairman of union construction companies wishes the sector to be thriving again after recessions and collapses.
