US-Taliban Peace Talks Canceled

KABUL (MEP) — In a serious decision, the US President canceled peace talks with the Taliban in Doha, Qatar.

Donald Trump made the decision last midnight and wanted his representatives back from Doha.

The US President Donald Trump tweeted; “Unbeknownst to almost everyone, the major Taliban leaders and, separately, the President of Afghanistan, were going to secretly meet with me at Camp David on Sunday. They were coming to the United States tonight.”

“Unfortunately, in order to build false leverage, [the Taliban] admitted to an attack in Kabul that killed one of our great soldiers,” the US president continued.

“I immediately cancelled the meeting and called off peace negotiations. ….only made it worse!” The US president Trump said. “If they cannot agree to a ceasefire during these very important peace talks, and would even kill 12 innocent people, then they probably don’t have the power to negotiate a meaningful agreement anyway.”

This comes after tenth rounds of talks between Khalilzad and Taliban representatives, held in Doha three days ago, and the US-Taliban peace deal was expected to be signed.
