US Forces Admit Killing 33 Civilians In US-Led Operation’ In Kunduz

MEP: US forces based in Afghanistan have accepted killing civilians in joint operations Boz Kandahari region of Kunduz province.

The forces stationed in Afghanistan released a statement of the NATO office on Thursday (12 January) said the people had been killed in a joint operation on 2 to 3 November 2016.

The bombing took place when the armed Taliban opened fire from the houses on them and they also targeted the homes, said the statement.

According to the statement, after investigation, it was determined that 33 residents of the region, have been killed and 27 others wounded in the operation.

US forces said the operation was launched to arrest Taliban leaders where Special Forces of Afghanistan, with assistance from US forces had taken part.

The report came as the US troops had earlier rejected the casualties on civilians and called on further probe.
