US Drone Strike Kills Five Rebels in Nangarhar
KABUL: (Middle East Press) US drone strike killed at least five rebels in eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday afternoon, local officials on Sunday.
Hazrat Hussian Mashriqiwal, a spokesman for Nangarhar Police Chief said, the incident took place in Lalpoor district when a US drone targeted the rebel’s area while they were travelling to another part of the district.
There were no civilian casualties in the strike, said Mashhriqiwal.
However, he did not provide details regarding the identity of the rebels.
Lalpoor district is one of the insecure district where the anti-government militants frequently carry out insurgency activities and target Afghan forces.
