Unknown Fate Of Security Forces In Nad Ali
MEP: Despite advances of Afghan defense and security forces in the areas of Nad Ali district, there is no news of the fate of soldiers missing in this district. But a new Taliban video shows that more than 20 soldiers are in their captivity.
Omar Zwak, a spokesman for the governor of Helmand province said security forces, including the Task Force, air, land and gunner are in progress in the areas of the district.
According to him, the forces also refined a number of areas and have pushed back the armed Taliban while engaged at war with the other armed opposition groups.
Zwak added that in addition to purification, cleansing and destruction of the Taliban, the security forces are tracking the calls made by the soldiers who have been missing three days ago.
“So far there is no news of the fate of the soldiers but serious efforts have been made to determine their location” Helmand governor’s spokesman stressed.
However, Helmand’s Provincial Council and civil society claimed on Tuesday that the missing soldiers are in the Taliban’s captivity.
Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman has recently released a video on his Twitter account saying a number of Afghan soldiers have been kidnapped by the group’s members.
