Two Senior Armed Taliban Commanders Among 24 Colleagues Killed In Kunduz

Two senior Taliban killed in KunduzMEP: Officials in northern Kunduz province say at least two senior commanders of armed Taliban along with 24 of their staff have been killed.

Sheraziz Kamawal, 808 Spin Zar zone commander says in the wake of air strikes in surrounding areas of Kunduz province, Qari Naser and Qari Omar, two top Taliban commanders with 24 of their men were killed.

The rebels were eliminated at around 3:00 am on Monday in a NATO air raid in the area of Kocha Qazaq of Kunduz – Aliabad district highway, he added.

According to Kamawal, the armed Taliban are trying to transfer the bodies of their commanders from the battlefield but security forces have prevented them.

Kamawal stated as a result of air operations by Afghan forces in Anwar Tapa areas of Aliabad district of the province, four other members of the group were killed.

The report comes as since last night heavy clashes between the Taliban and security forces continue in the way of Kunduz – Aliabad and near the city of Kunduz. No exact casuatlties of the fighting were provided yet and the armed Taliban have also not said anything about it.
