Tribal Clashes in Pakistan’s North Waziristan Kill Nearly 50, Injure over 20

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 50 people have been killed and more than 20 others have been injured following clashes between two tribes in Pakistan’s North Waziristan due to disputed mountain territory.

The incident occurred Saturday between the Mada Khel and Paipali Kabul Khel tribes, near the country’s border with Afghanistan, a day earlier, said officials and local sources.

An unnamed Pakistani security source said that the conflict in Laoaara Mandi village in Data Khel area has so far left 47 people dead and 25 others injured.

The fight for the mountain is ongoing added officials.

Both tribes claim the mountain territory in North Waziristan. According to locals, both tribes support separate militant groups operating in the area.

North Waziristan is one of Pakistan’s seven autonomous tribal districts where militant groups have been hiding.
