25 Percent Increase In The Presence Of Women In Takhar Government Offices

MEP: The presence of Afghan women in government offices of Takhar province has been increased despite many challenges of indecent cultural and traditional plugs.

Thousands of women are currently working in various multilateral institutions in the province.

Local officials say the participation of women in government agencies has been increased 25 percent over the years.

Razmārā (Ahvash) head of women’s affairs in Takhar province, said that despite the limitations of traditional and women’s lack of support from the government and supporting institutions, currently there are thousands of women in state institutions which has a positive impact of good governance in the province.

Meanwhile, Haseebullah Qurban Head of Civil Service Administrative Reform of Takhar province says that 25 percent of civil servants in the province are women, and about four thousand women are involved in activities in government departments.

The 45 percent of women participation in the electoral process and in the civil service test, as well as administrative reform, has created a positive change in the system’s good governance.

According to analysts, some issues also created a positive discrimination for women in the province.
