Taliban Launches Coordinated Attack On Nangarhar District
MEP: Local officials in eastern Nangarhar province said Friday the armed Taliban have launched a coordinated attack on Hisarak district of the province since last night.
The officials added that the group has so far captured at least four security checkpoints and military operations are ongoing to retake the posts.
Heavy clashes between the armed Taliban and security forces continuing near the building of Hisarak district and there is possibility of district’s collapse to the hands of Taliban, the officials further added.
At least two Afghan soldiers were killed and nine others wounded during the clashes.
Meanwhile, Attaullah Khogyani, a spokesman for Nangarhar’s governor said up to 30 Taliban were also killed and more than 20 others injured in the conflict.
