Taliban Delegation In Islamabad To Attend Peace Talks

MEP: An armed Taliban delegation consists of three-members have traveled to Islamabad to share the secret talks between Afghan security officials with the Pakistani government.

The delegation has arrived in Islamabad last night, The Guardian reported on Saturday.

The report says that the armed Taliban during their visit to Pakistan’s Islamabad, will share the secret negotiations of Afghan security officials with the Pakistani authorities.

The Taliban delegation is included Mawlawi Shahabuddin Dilawar, a former ambassador to Pakistan, Mullah Jan Muhammad Madani, a former foreign minister under the Taliban regime in the 1990s, and Mullah Abdul Salam, a former deputy education minister.

This comes as The Guardian earlier reported that a Taliban delegation led by Mullah Manan Akhundzadah, the brother of former Taliban leader Mullah Muhammad Omar held secret talks with Masoom Stanekzai national security chief and Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Afghanistan’s national security adviser in Qatar.
