taliban-18-sep-14KABUL: (Middle East Press) Taliiban rebel group have launched another coordinated attack on a military base in northeastern Badakhshan province Friday evening, local officials said on Saturday.

The officials added that heavy clashes erupted in Teergaran area of Wardoj district of the province after the insurgents attacked the military base from four different angles and clashes continue between Afghan security forces and Taliban rebels.

Acting governor, Shah Waliullah Adib has warned that “if the government does not send more troops to the area Warduj will fall into hands of the Taliban.”

The attack comes as the Taliban militants had launched an attack early on Thursday morning which was repelled by the Afghan forces, leaving four militants dead and three others wounded, said Deputy provincial governor Gul Mohammad Bidar.
