Nawaz Sharif met Indian prime minister in his home near Lahore city.

Azaz Ahmad, deputy of foreign minister of Pakistan said the two sides talked to improve relations between India and Pakistan, to build trust and to continue the peace process between the two nations.

After twelve years, the prime ministers of Pakistan and India met each other and spoke, Ahmad said.

Modi, after the opening of the new building of the Afghan National Assembly, landed to Pakistan.

Prime minister of India, was warmly welcomed by his Pakistani counterpart.

A spokesman at Sharif’s office earlier said the two leaders discussed a range of bilateral issues, including the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir, the most contentious issue dividing the nuclear-armed rivals.

Modi’s said in Kabul before traveling to Pakistan, efforts are required to spend in peace and stability to Afghanistan.

According to Modi, peace and stability in Afghanistan without the cooperation and efforts of countries in the region and the world, would not be possible.

He said, I have good wishes for Nawaz Sharif on his birthday.

After 11 years it is the first visit of Indian PM with his country enemy Pakistan, the last visit of this two country was in 2004.

Relations between India and Pakistan since independence from Great Britain in 1947 is stressful.
