Suicide Attack Thwarted Near Girls’ School In Kunduz

Kunduz province-Middle East PressKABUL: (MEP) A powerful explosion was averted after security forces discovered and defused a mine barrel near a girls school in the city of Kunduz, an official said on Saturday.

Hijratullah Akbari, spokesman for Kunduz police chief said the remote-controlled mine was embedded by Taliban insurgents near Bibi Aisha Sidiqa School in Bandar Imam Sahib area.

Akbari added, by thwarting the mine, an intense explosion and loss of life to the people, especially students prevented in the city.

“The mine was skillfully embedded in a barrel and was equipped with a remote control system” Akbari noted.

According to the source, the target of the mine was school pupils and the planters of the mine intended to detonate the mine during discharge of students and teachers.
