Storm left deadly financial loss in northern Afghanistan

The afternoon of Tuesday (17th October) in the northern provinces of the country witnessed the beginning of a storm with thick soil, the storm started from the provinces of Faryab and Jawzjan and reached the provinces of Takhar and Badakhshan.

According to the dark weather data, which was caused by storms and shakings, it has caused traffic accidents, the power has also been cut off after the storm began, and traffic in these provinces has been disturbed.

The storm hit the province at around 4:30 pm and two traffic incidents were reported, Zabi Amani, spokesman for Sar-e-Pul governor, told the Middle East Press. According to him, the incident did not have any casualties, but there were financial losses.

It is also said that in the province of Jawzjan, after a traffic accident caused by the darkness of the air following a storm, one person was killed and three others wounded.

According to reports, the terrific storm destroyed tents of Faryab displaced place in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif.

Last night, Abdul Bassat Ehni, head of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of Balkh, went to the area and told the media that the people whom tents were destroyed had been transferred to safer places such as schools, mosques and other public places.

The storm and dirt hit the provinces of Faryab, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Balkh, Samangan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Takhar and Badakhshan provinces.

It is said that after more than 10 hours in some of these provinces, the hurricane has been reduced, but still the air of the northeast provinces of Baghlan, Kunduz, Takhar and Badakhshan is polluted and dark.
