Security Situation In Qala-e-Zal District Improving

MEP: The displaced people of war, one after another return to their home town. Government institutions have begun their work and are engaged in providing services to people in Qala-e-Zal district of Kunduz province.

The development comes as still ruins of battle are seen and some are worried that the armed Taliban attack the district once again.

But security officials say the armed Taliban have been completely suppressed in the district and security forces will not allow the Taliban to storm the district and its people.

Mohammad Akram Saameh, commander of 20 sect Pamir told the Middle East Press, security troops have created a strong security framework in the district.

He says: “A joint large-scale operation had begun, and during a 48-hour schedule, all of the areas of Qala-e-Zal district cleared.”

Meanwhile, Mahboobullah Saeedi, the district’s governor said the Taliban were removed from the center of the city and state institutions have begun their work.

Saeedi adds the armed Taliban had torched government institutions, clinics and a school in the district.

“From tomorrow on we will start working on welfare services in the district, first of all we will try to repair the damages at the school buildings, teacher training and the clinics,” he further added.

The armed Taliban around 40 days before managed to raid Aaq Tapa bazaar of central Qala-e-Zal district and managed to seize the district administration following several hours of conflict and at the time of their rule, entered major damages to the district.
