Security Forces Detain 12 Armed Taliban In Kunduz
MEP: As a result of a joint operation by Afghan and foreign security forces in Char Dara district of Kunduz province, 12 armed Taliban, including a commander were detained and a weapons cache destroyed.
Hijratullah Akbari, press officer at Kunduz police chief told the Middle East News Agency the operation was launched last night in the village of Isa Khel.
The security forces also seized some weapons and ammunition from the detained militants, Akbari said.
Akbari added that a cache of weapons and missiles, including a Haylks and a ranger vehicles and motorcycles belonging to the group have been set on fire and destroyed.
Meanwhile, Akbari noted that a number of armed Taliban were also killed and wounded during the operation but he did not specify the exact number of the casualties.
The Taliban group have not commented regarding the report so far.
