SCP Urge To Postpone Mass Demonstration For TUTAP

GilaniMEP:  Supreme Council of the Parties (SCP) on Sunday expressed readiness to mediate to solve the problem of TUTAP project, urging the lighting movement and the government to postpone the mass protest in capital Kabul.

Sayed Hamed Gailani, a spokesman for the party by reading a statement, recounted the Council’s position on the transit of Turkmen electricity and said “It fears that the enemies of the country to exploit the demonstration which is due to take place tomorrow (Monday).”

He added the party’s Supreme Council wishes for the unity, equality and brotherhood of the people and urged both sides (government and movement lighting) to consider the interests of the country, and take actions.

Gilan noted that the party’s Supreme Council also wants to prevent the mass protests in order to avoid violence between people.

According to the Supreme Council of the parties, discussion and negotiation are the best way to achieve the desired result, adding that they should definitely delay the protest until an appropriate solution is found.

This comes as earlier, thousands of people organized demonstrations in Bamyan and Kabul provinces to protest against the change of the route of TUTAP, besides several politicians have called on the government to reconsider its decision and ensure justice in implementation of development projects.
