Rocket Blast Kills Five Children Killed in Helmand
KABUL: (Middle East Press) Five children have been killed after the rocket they were playing with exploded in Nad Ali District of southern Helmand province.
Omar Jan Haqmal, police chief of Nad Ali District said that the incident took place in Loy Manda area yesterday.
He said children had found an old rocket in the area and were playing with it when it exploded, leaving five children killed.
This is not the first time children immaturely lose lives in the explosion of an old explosive device.
Hundreds of children, women and men have lost lives to the blasts caused by the explosive devices either left from the Russian time in Afghanistan or by insurgents after the fall of Taliban regime in 2001.
