Qatar To Open Embassy In Kabul

MEP: Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s foreign minister in a meeting with Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, “the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” in Doha has said that the country will open its embassy in Kabul in the near future.

President Ghani at the head of a high-ranking delegation traveled to Doha on Tuesday for the death of the former emir of Qatar Shaikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al Thani.

He returned home on Wednesday after visiting the Qatari officials.

Ghani in this trip expressed his and the people of Afghanistan’s condolences for the death of Shaikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al Thani for the family of the deceased and the people of Qatar.

The President said government and people of Qatar for the demise of their leader are sad and the government and people of Afghanistan truly feeling their sorrow.

Mr. Ghani also discussed security and regional issues with the officials of Qatar as well as holding talks on strengthening ties between the two nations.

Qatar’s Foreign Minister said his country is ready for any kind of cooperation with Afghanistan, in particular in order to ensure permanent peace in the country.

He stressed that the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamdal Thani, decided to open Qatar’s embassy in Afghanistan in the near future.

President Ghani, said Afghanistan and Qatar are the two friendly countries and hailed the decision by the Emir of Qatar for the opening of the country’s embassy in Afghanistan.
