President Ghani Arrives In Poland To Attend WARSAW Summit

MEP: Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan heading a high-ranking government delegation on Thursday afternoon arrived in Poland for a three-day visit to attend the WARSAW summit.

Ghani is expected to give a lecture at the meeting and represent Afghanistan’s views on various issues, particularly the fight against terrorism, a statement by Presidential Palace said.

The statement adds that the President on the sidelines of the meeting will hold talks with high-ranking officials of NATO member states separately.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani, Mohammad Hanif Atmar, the national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Abdullah Habibi Minister of National Defence, Aklil Hakimi Minister of Finance, Salamat Azimi Minister of Counter Narcotics, Dr. Mohammad Homayoun Qaiyoomi senior advisor to the President for infrastructure, Abdul Salam Rahimi, head of the presidential administration, Nader Naderi, senior advisor to the President and Mohammad Haroon Chakhansur, a spokesman for the President have accompanied the President during the visit.

The WARSAW summit is being described by some as the most important gathering of NATO since the end of the Cold War, largely because it will formalize a more wary approach to Russia.

Worlds power are attending the summit including US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladmir Putin.
