KABUL (MEP) — As a result of a roadside bomb blast, the Ahmedabad district police commander was killed and a soldier was injured.
The incident happened last midnight in the Ahmadabad district center when the district police commander was on patrol.
Paktia police spokesman Sardar Wali Tabasum says the vehicle hit a mine when it was moving from one post to another.
Another police officer was also injured in the blast, he said.
The armed Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
Armed Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote in a Tweet that six policemen were killed in the blast.
