One American Service Member Killed in Afghanistan
KABUL (MEP) — A US soldier killed during combat operations in Afghanistan.
US military officials have confirmed the death of the military personnel.
The detail about the episode or the service member’s identity is not released in the newsletter.
Meanwhile, armed Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid releasing a US soldier’s ID badge has said in a post on Twitter, “massive explosion was carried out last night on US occupants in Safarbai area of Chardara district in Kunduz province.”
One American soldier was killed and one American soldier and one ANA Special Forces commander wounded in the incident, Mujahid wrote on Twitter.
So far, US officials have not responded to the Taliban’s comments.
However, Kunduz police spokesman Anamuddin Rahmani told MEP that last night ANA and ANP conducted a raid on Taliban fighters in Chahardara district, which destroyed a Taliban depot.
Rahmani did not provide details on the dead of American soldier.
