KABUL: (MEP) A nine-member delegation of the Afghan National Army, headed by Force Commander Lt Gen Muhammad Munin Faqir, visited the Southern Command headquarters here on Wednesday and met its Commander, Lt Gen Aamir Riaz.
Security arrangements on the Pak-Afghan border and other matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
Both commanders agreed to enhance coordination and security measures on their sides of the border.
The visiting officials laid a floral garland at the Shuhada monument and praised the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism.
It had been decided during Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif’s last visit to Afghanistan that force commanders from both countries would hold meetings to ensure better border management.
