3G3C6911KABUL: (Middle East East) Afghan National Security Forces have launched separate military operations across the country in which at least 98 Taliban militants were killed and over 38 others wounded over the past 24 hours, Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced on Thursday morning.

A statement issued by MoD states the operations were conducted in the provinces of Badakhshan, Farah, Ghazni, Helmand, Herat, Kandahar, Kapisa, Kunar, Kunduz, Nangarhar, Paktia, Takhar, Uruzgan and Zabul.

The statement added that two Taliban members were also arrested during the operations.

According to statement, Afghan forces have also confiscated light and heavy weaponry and defused several rounds of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

At least 10 members of security forces were also killed in the operations.
