KABUL: (MEP) Ministry of Defense on Saturday announced that militants launched attacks on security posts of army and police of Helmand province last night.
The ministry issued a statement saying Afghan forces on the ground responded to the attacks with the assistance of the airstrikes of foreign forces in which at least 35 assailants have been killed and three vehicles belonging to the attackers were destroyed.
Although, the statement does not specify what group the militants belonged to but at the time Gerishk district is the site of heavy clashes between security forces and Taliban.
There were no casualties to Afghan forces during the attack.
