The gender department of the MoIC, held a two days empowerment workshop for male and female employees of govt dailies, Baihaqi and Maimanagi Art Gallary under the title of “Awareness giving on social gender”, in Kabul.
At the outset, head of MoIC gender department Mahbooba Saadat talking on the goal behind this workshop, said awareness on gender is equal to gender justice in different dimensions, including socio, economic, political and economic and gender equality has also been described in Islamic teaching and Islam has also confirmed women rights and respect to women and has consider discrimination and violence against women illegal.
Touching challenges, obstacles, problems and solutions ahead of women, Saadat added, as much women presence would be more in the country, our society would be more active and effective and the country would be more progressive and developed. Every failure results in successful consequences.
But it is an important precondition for everybody not to be surrounded to challenges and foster struggle in his, her body.
She emphasized that, gender is a new subject in Afghanistan and has not be institutionalized sufficiently. Every scientific or social research has certain problems but research on gender and specially women rights in a country like ours, has a lot of problems ahead. Security is essential in a country so family manage to send their daughters to school. We believe that Afghan women have been besieged in countless obstacles, the first one is family. A family should agree that a female member should work outdoor. Women should convince their families.
Eradication of inequalities and discriminations would be only implemented that the Afghan government with full support of international community undertake sincere practical steps to meet women economic, educational requirement. This goal can only be gained with real Islamic decisions and observations of human rights declaration not with threat, supersession and underestimation of women natural capabilities.
