“Big bases of armed anti-government forces were cleared in Mirza Olang area in Sayad city for the second time during joint operations by security forces and the public uprising” said the Sar-e Pul provincial offices

“Mirza Olang valley was retaken from armed anti-governmental forces and their strongholds were destroyed in an operation carried out by security forces backed by Afghan air force” media quoted Zaher Wahdat, the Sar-e Pul provincial governor, as saying

He added the strongholds of Katla Tawa, Jang Jay, Shiromha and Sabzgoli belonging to anti-governmental forces were occupied by the security forces.

Not detailing exactly, Wahdat said anti-government received some casualties.

Describing the UNAMA report on Mirza Olang as incomplete, Wahdat added UNAMA without conducting any survey has released such report.

UNAMA report released yesterday said 36 civilians were killed jointly by Taliban and Daesh.

The Sar-e Pul provincial governor, however, earlier had said more than 50 persons were shot dead or beheaded.

Taliban has not commented yet.
