Mass Grave Discovered in Northern Iraq

KABUL: (Middle East Press) A mass grave has been found in Iraq’s northern province of Kirkuk which contain about 27 bodies, officials reported.

According to Iraq’s Ministry of Human Rights, the bodies were found on Saturday near the mainly Shia Turkmen town of Basheer.

The victims are believed to have been killed by the ISIL terrorists when they rolled into the town last June.

According to some reports, the number of corpses are up to 50.

The ministry added, experts have begun collecting DNA samples from the families of nearly 1,600 Iraqi air forces killed by the ISIL Takfiris in Camp Speicher in the conflict-ridden city of Tikrit in northern Salahuddin Province.

Earlier on February 7, a mass grave containing the remains of about two dozen members of the Izadi community was discovered in northern Iraq.
