Kunduz In Ameliorate Situation: Officials Guarantee

Kunduz situationKABUL: (MEP) Local officials ensure of the improved security situation in Kunduz province and emphasize that the city will not fall by Taliban insurgents again.

Gen. Mohammad Qasim Jangalbagh, police chief of Kunduz and Asadullah Omarkhel, the provincial governor walking in the city among people, have assured of the city’s safe security situation.

The officials described the security situation “stable” and rejected the possibility of city’s collapse.

“The city will not be a safe haven for Taliban insurgents” the officials stressed.

Kunduz police chief said the armed opposition groups have suffered heavy losses during the past two days.

This comes as the Taliban insurgents had captured the city on Friday aimed at deteriorating the situation following an announcement of it is spring offensive under the name of “Omari” across the country. However, the security forces in response to the attack have successfully managed to kill at least 80 insurgents and more than 50 others wounded.
