Khalilzad Arrives in Kabul
The US Special Envoy for Afghanistan’s Peace in a new round of regional travels came to Kabul and met a number of officials.
Zalmay Khalilzad arrived in Kabul today (Monday, April 01), met and discussed with a number of NUG and other leaders; Middle East Press reported.
The US embassy’s newsletter says Khalilzad met with Omar Daudzai, head of the High Peace Council (HPC) and Salam Rahimi, in the new round of regional trips for Afghan peace talks.
According to the newsletter, Khalilzad discussed Afghan officials on the peace process and accelerating the Intra-Afghan talks.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the executive director of the National Unity Government, said he met Zalmay Khalilzad this morning and talked about peace process.
It is worth mentioning that Khalilzad’s recent visit to Kabul takes place to content the NUG leaders of participating Qatar Summit.
