John Kerry Arrived In Kabul
KABUL: (MEP) U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Saturday arrived in capital Kabul aimed at supporting the National Unity Government (NUG) and National Security Forces (NSF).
Kerry during his visit would discuss details with President Ashraf Ghani and CEO Abdul on how to implement the security agreement between Kabul and Washington.
According to U.S. foreign ministry, Kerry would stress the need for financial support from countries to Afghanistan in a meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Afghanistan donors conference in Warsaw and Brussels in July.
At the same time, U.S. forces in Afghanistan are due to be almost halved to 5,500 from the current 9,800 by the start of 2017, and the new commander in Afghanistan, General John Nicholson, is conducting a review of security before making his recommendations to Washington sometime in June.
Kerry within the framework of his regional visit, travelled to Baghdad, capital of Iraq yesterday.
