Japan Pledges $22 Million In Aid To Afghanistan

Japan to KabulKABUL: (MEP) The Government of Japan on Sunday based on a memorandum, pledged a total sum of 22 million dollars for Afghanistan’s economic and social development programs.

The grant contract was signed by Hiroshi Takahashi, the Ambassador of Japan to Kabul, with Salahuddin Rabbani, Afghan Foreign Minister.

Rabbani at the signing ceremony, said “Japan is one of the largest donors to Afghanistan over the past one and a half decades.”

The Japanese envoy vowed that his country would continue providing assistance to Afghanistan.

The Japanese ambassador also hoped that the National Unity Government (NUG) use the sum accurately in resolving the financial problems and adjusting developing programs beneficial to people.
