Islamabad, Seeking To Improve Relations With Kabul

139306241712513063642024MEP: Pakistan has once again invited Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Unity government (NUG) to find a way to improve relations with Kabul.

After the itinerary of Abdullah to Pakistan was canceled 10 days ago due to the deadly blast in Kabul, the country has once again invited him to travel to Islamabad.

Pakistani media have reported that the request was made by Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan on the sidelines of the inauguration of CASA -1000 project in Dushanbe, Tajikistan and a short visit with Abdullah.

According to reports, the Pakistani Prime Minister had also invited Hamid Karzai, the former Afghan President a few days ago to Islamabad. The purpose of this invitation was said to improve relations between Islamabad-Kabul and Afghanistan’s peace negotiations.

The invitation by Pakistan comes as the ruling on bilateral relations between the two nations is not a good atmosphere and the recent controversy over the Torkham border, tensions and disputes between the two countries also added to the collection.
