Iran’s Supreme Leader’s Threatens Saudi Arabia
KABUL: (Middle East Press) Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader on Wednesday in response to the disaster incident of ‘Mina’ has threatened Saudi Arabia that if we were to react, the reaction will be “harsh and tough”.
“Saudi Arabia failed to fulfill its duties concerning the desperate wounded (pilgrims),” said Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to Iran’s official PressTV.
“Should we decide to show any reaction, our reaction will be tough and harsh,” it quoted him as saying at a military academy Wednesday.
Ayatollah Khamenei blasted Saudi officials for failing to live up to their commitments regarding the crush in Mina, near the Saudi city of Mecca, on September 24.
He noted, “Saudi authorities do not discharge their responsibilities and in some cases act contrarily (contrary to their duties) and slyly.”
Ayatollah Khamenei also lashed out at Riyadh for failing to ensure the safety of Hajj pilgrims.
